Good morning everyone
How is everyone doing in the lockdown. I’m on the super vulnerable list, so 15/3/20 was the last day I went in a shop or car. The issue of being at home for me is fine having been confined to barracks frequently over the last 4yrs as my leukaemia waxed and waned. The rest of the time, I spent on the road, working - so it will be a different landscape when I’m allowed to re-emerge - which b&bs or pubs or suppliers will survive - is anyone’s guess. Are any of you super vulnerable?
Many of the patients leaving ICU are going to have seriously suppressed immune systems - they are going to have to be careful of picking anything up - so I guess they will be shielding too. A TIP FOR FAMILY MEMBERS TO PASS ONTO THEIR LOVED ONES in hospital - if you want to reduce cross infection whilst in hospital, always ‘alcohol gel’ or wash your hands once your OBS. have been taken. The little cuff the nurses place on your finger on the oximetre - goes from patient to patient in a certain bay. The nurses clean the outside of the machine but not the inside of the cuff. Try not to touch handles - use a paper towel AND don’t touch your face - inadvertently- we touch our faces 100 times an hour - virus, bacteria & fungi get into your system via nasal cavity, mouth & eyes
