My range is 2.5 to 3.5 . Last 2 test were 3.48 and 3.3 .Should I reduce dosage presently on 14mg a week

Looking at the figures you have quoted your last 2 tests were both within your required range which is good. I would think the warfarin only needs altering if it is persistently outside the required range.

Did you really mean 14 mg per week?

If you have concerns you need to talk to your anti coagulation clinic.

thanks for the reply. My Doc very excited when it;s over 3.0. My range is 2.5 /3.5.I've had the flu so I expected a slight increase. I'm a heart valve fellow 12 years ago and just about do my ""own"" INR. I have a selve tester which helps. In Canada we have to buy the unit and the strips. There $8 a go. What price are they in the US if you happen to know. Yes i take 2 mg a day for a TOTAL of 14 for the week. In Canada we have a tendency to work on a weekly Volume. Wilfj

Why would you want to reduce your warfarin, I would be pleased to have your results.

The anticoagulant clinic work out the amount of warfarin you need that's why you have regular blood tests, I am on 9 mgs at present, but It will change if my blood shows it necessary

I'm not sure where you are -- US? UK? Wherever? But here in my quiet corner of the US my hematologist's office is most diligent to review my numbers and tell me if I should adjust my meds. My suggested range is the same as yours, and it sounds like you are exactly where you should be. But again -- what does your doc or coag clinic say?

Thanks for the reply. I'm in Canada believe it or not and we still sell oil and hydro power to you folks , not withstanding Mr. obama . 3.5 is the top of my range and my Doc prefers 2.7/ 2.8. I've had the flu all last week so i expected the increase. I'm just staying at 2mg daily or a total of 14 per week. Thanks again.
