I suffer from severe brain swelling at night & pop 2 Ibuprofens to reduce my swelling , have severe dizzy spells ....EXTREMELY SEVERE , can never get on fair rides becuz it will cause the dizzy spells , extreme weather makes me dizzy so I hardly ever get out of the house unless the weather "just right" like Goldilocks porridge ( hahaha :-/ ) . If I don't take Ibuprofens before bedtime as soon as I doze off I will get an excruciation stabbing pain on the left side of my temple & I jump up wondering if my heart just stopped & started beating again . What do this sound like to u ?

Hello, you need to direct these questions to your GP or even a Neurologist, however feel free to look over the list of symptoms on the charity website: hughes-syndrome.org/about-h...

There is also a migraine forum on this same platform - National Migraine Centre

Migraines/headaches can be caused by many things, I hope you get to the bottom of it. I am not sure you have the right symptoms for it to be Hughes Syndrome/APS, but if you remain wishing to investigate this line of inquiry, you can get your GP to do the blood tests. MaryF

I am already going for several tests ... just thought I'd ask .

Also... The national migraine centre you can self refer! Also if you are being tested, ask them to do these tests also, they are not expensive for a GP to do. Then at least you can rule it out. hughes-syndrome.org/about-h...

All the best. MaryF

The English major housewife from suburban West Virginia -- in other words, not medically qualified at all! -- thinks this sounds migrainey. But then, migraines can have a number of causes, including APS.

--so yeah, time for that frustrating series of appointments, test, consultations and personal hair pulling.

Good luck! Whether the diagnosis you fight to find is APS or -- something else -- we all can relate to your frustration and cheer you on!
