Dealing with Hs and loosing weight

So recently I was diagnosed with Hs but unfortunately it’s been going on for a good few months now just under a year. I have been finding my self very uncomfortable and in some pain. The advice I have been given is to loose the weight but there is only so much I can do by cutting down on junk food etc. Does anybody else find it hard to do a lot off activities and how have you coped with this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Lukasz

Hi lukaz, I know what you mean, I have had this since I was in my 20’s and I am now 60 , my weight has fluctuated over the years and it is true that when you are overweight you sweat more and your clothes can rub more which seems to set things off. I have tried going to the gym and exercising on the machines and this just irritates my condition. The best exercise for me to help with weight loss is walking and a healthy diet, I do like the odd treat “everything in moderation “as they say. Good luck with your journey, everyone’s story is different and it takes a while to work out what’s best for you.

Thank you. I have tried walking a lot before but gave up when the disease made me depressed but now I have that under control I need to work on the exercise.

Having someone to walk with is the key or a dog if you have one or both , I go swimming when I can too.

Its not the weight that is the cause. It's what you put in your body. Look at the autoimmune protocol or paleo diet. I've recently been having morninga and its changing my life. My scars are changing and my IBS is better. Healing takes a long time. You must be committed to changing your body inside out. Read science journals they will tell you the weight is not the cause. Only that reducing weight helps. In my opinion because you're eating less inflammatory things. Wish you luck in your healing. It's not easy. I'm privileged to have the internet to access information. Doing the cooking for such a diet takes time but it will change your life I swear.
