I’ve been trying to figure out a better way to indulge in whole grains without getting bored of the same ones again and again and… well, you get the point.
There are just SO MANY KINDS! They all require different boiling times, soaking or steaming times & the list goes on and on…
Here’s a small chart that you all will hopefully see as useful and maybe even feel brave enough to experiment with some of this nutrient-packed, wholesome, and rich-in- fiber bundles of goodness.

Although polenta may seem a bit too plain for some of you, feel free to experiment with toppings like tomato and roasted red pepper spread, stir-fried mushrooms & green peppers or add just a little more water to have more of a spoon-cereal consistency.
For broths, a low sodium chicken broth will be the best choice. Keep in mind that to reduce your calorie intake, you can even use chicken broth instead of milk/cream for your mashed potatoes!
