in the uk all prisoners are offered hbv vaccinations and uptake is now very good uk drug dependency wards have 1% hbv rates and much the same in our prisons, however our nurses and children have similar rates on wards and there are rather more of them, in fact hbv is about 5% in our sub Saharan and Pacific Rim populations way higher. These "criminals have it" comments really just lead to stigma. Childhood has infected a billion humans with Hep B and Healthcare has infect 90% of hep C globally
