Hello,I haven't written for a while but I read a value all your advice. Yesterday I had an endoscopy and they found helicobacter pylori present in my stomach. The treatment will be a course of antibiotics for a couple of weeks I think. Would I be harming my liver further by taking the antibiotics as I have chronic hepatitis b? I am not on any medication for the heb b as hepatologist says I don't need it.

Without knowing what antibiotic they are going to prescribe it is impossible to say . The first step would be to read the contra indications in the leaflet that comes with the drugs . Presumably your doctor knows about your HepB infection so I assume whatever you are prescribed will be compatible with your condition .
Personal experience , as I have chronic HepB and HIV , has been no trouble from antibiotics .
Many have pylori bacta and it is very good to get rid of it as it can cause many problems especially ulcers.... perhaps 2 to 3 hundred hbv patient helpline callers have had and cleared on the antibiotics without a problem
Do the antibiotics pylori is worth getting rid of...... but listen to your health... if you have a going yellow experience you can stop...but these are very rare and fo not mean any long term harm
