Use to take 10mg but didn't agree with me foggy and very tired. -7.5mg was okish - 5 mg just right no symptoms! Hasten to say I'm now in NSR on 5 mg.

to get the hearts rythmn right my consultant had to experiment with different medication and touch wood everythings ok I now take bisoprolol 15mg - digoxin 125 microgram -Ramipril 10mg -furosemide 40 mg and rivaroxaban 20 mg have tried different medication over 45 years and this formula as done the job yes you do get tired but sleeping isn't a problem you have to control your breathing ie don't start breathing fast relax and breath normally keep calm I once said pills don't alter your bodies physiology but they can ?

i have just started taking bisoprolol 2.5 and amiodarone 200mg again following a failed ablation in december and a recent hosp admission for fast AF. i am getting headaches daily and the same thing happened prior to ablation

sotolol in reply toCanada01

Frustrating are you going to try another ablation?? Hope the headaches go. I suffer migraines but not of late thank goodness. Like Af I wake up with one. I do drink water a lot. Do your headaches ease off at all??

hi yes i will be having another ablation not sure yet with Covid, i wake up with headache like you i try and drink lots of water before bed, i have been told to take the bisoprolol at night i am thinking of changing this to am.

I’ve just started Bisoprolol for 2 nights after over 12 years Sotalol. I take at night too. I was thinking swapping for am too. Never know if what we do is right. ? Trial and error I suppose. But it will take the body time to adjust. My heart rate has dropped by 10. But just waiting for it to kick off again. 🙄.

used to take it, felt like utter shit while taking it honestly very zombie like and tired and achey BUT it does wonders to ur rhythm nonetheless! so always take it :) maybe some day u will be like me, off all the pills

sotolol profile image
sotolol in reply toCrash88

How come you off all pills??

Crash88 profile image
Crash88 in reply tosotolol

well my small SVT and ectopics were mostly because i gained weight (30 kg) and started drinking alot of alcohol and was depressed (used to be an athlete before that) so all that physical change etc pretty much messed up my body, so i quit cold turkey started hitting the gym doing a few different diets, started getting my abs back etc and slowly removing pills with the help of a electrophysist/cardiologist and that’s it. felt great, now ocasionally i get ectopics but they are mild and very rare.. sometimes all the heart shit just shows up because something u are doing is wrong! best of luck

Wow. You gone and done good. Glad it’s worked out for you. Keep up the good work. It’s hard to get back on track. Depression is pants.

Well done. 👍🏻👍🏻

Pre ablation took 10 mg but immediately post ablation went down to 2.5 mg although EP said I would probably not need it. No further problems 2 1/2 years on.

sotolol profile image
sotolol in reply tosilversurfer1951

Was this your first ablation ??

silversurfer1951 profile image
silversurfer1951 in reply tosotolol

Yes, first ablation but had three electro cardio versions over the preceeding 6 years. Took Amiodarone 200 mg to control the AF until a cardiologist suggested I stop it as I had been in sinus rhythm for a couple of years. Then the AF came back and I was referred to Harefield hospital for the ablation in late 2017. Been good since and just take the Bisoprolol 2.5 mg and Candesartan for blood pressure.

That’s really good news. When we can go out again 😩 and I get to see cardiologist maybe I’ll ask her for more info. As in letter she wrote discuss ablation. Cheers. Keep doing what your doing 👍🏻

Did you feel tired if so how long does it take to feel rubbish.

silversurfer1951 profile image
silversurfer1951 in reply tosotolol

I do suffer from tiredness a lot. With all this Covid-19 going on at the moment sleep quality is not good but then for the last few years feeling tired has been an issue. Don't know if the Bisoprolol is the cause in my case but apparently it is a known side effect.

If you can get the cardiologist to refer you to an E/P for consideration for an ablation then go for it. If you would like any other info on the experience please email in the future. Good luck
