Has anyone else experienced worsening symptoms and or insomnia while taking this beta blocker. Metoprolol Succ Er

I've been taking it for two years, no side affects. It's possible that one of your other meds is causing the issue. Consult with your cardiologist ASAP.

Hi yes I have insomnia and also bradycardia with heart rate down at mid 40s so have fatigue and muscle aches.

But I have been on it for many years now. Have tried me on other betablockers but they was as bad or worse

Yes, I had to stop taking metoprolol succ ER due to insomnia. Instead of taking one 25mg pill regularly every morning, I take a half pill when I start to feel irregular beats. Those days when I take the half pill, it helps with the irregular beats, and that night I experience insomnia. The earlier in the day I took the pill, the earlier it wears off and the less insomnia I experience. It’s 100 percent definitely this medication that causes my insomnia. I’m also on a statin and an anti-coagulant but I haven’t changed those dosages at all and when I don’t take the metoprolol, I sleep better.
