I'm 26 years old and just found out I have svt. I'm scared to bend over to get anything because that's what caused my last episode. I had to go to the hospital and they had to restart my heart it was beating over 240bpm cause I have anxiety and I was freaking out. Can anyone tell me if I can die from this? The people at the hospital were freaking out because they thought I was fixing to have a heart attack. I went to a heart dr in Nashville and wore a heart monitor again.....and again they didn't find anything knowing I did it just didn't work. They had me on atenolol also. They called and said they couldn't find anything and that's it. I'm scared to do my normal activities cause it acts up sometimes. I just dont want to die from it.

Can I die from reoccurring svts?
Hi Pooky, this presentation on SVT's by Dr Sanjay Gupta offers some helpful advice:
I have had Svt for about 15 years,at first short attacks which I did not know what it was, 2 years ago I had the big one of 197 beats which would not stop and I had to go to A and E. I refused an ablation because I have had 6 major attacks in 2 years and Don,t want to compromise my life because I,m independent and Don,t want to bother my family. I was taken off Bisoprolol a year ago and I don,t know which is the worse, being without or taking them. It does cause me alarm if I bend over and I can feel it pause because that is what happens before an attack then I feel dizzy and off it goes. 20 years ago I can remember some short runs when I was working too, now I think about it. It does cause problems with how you live your life I must agree.
