MitraClip worry

I have only been offered MitraClip surgery for my mitra valve regurgitation. Having read everything I can I find it's only offered to people who are too old or unwell to have repair. Has anyone had this type of repair?

Many thanks CHVV2022 for your reply. I have read Jim Gibsons's story (Harefield hospital is reasonably near to me). He did seem to be feeling a lot better after the MitraClip but the one thing I can't find is how long this lasts. Various reports from USA and Holland don't give a good outcome which is why this procedure is not widely used. Please let me know if anyone replies to this. Kind regards Sandra
