Can I be allergic To water ? I have very itchy skin.I was given cream to treat it. If I washed in water The Itch came back.

It may have more to do with temperature than water per se. Warm water can trigger aquagenic pruritis in some with a MPN - particularly PV. The temperature change from hot/worm to cold is the trigger. Perhaps you are particularly sensitive as some are.

Thank you hunter, I didn't say my skin is very dry and the itch drives me mad. I am constantly shedding skin.

If I put cream on the dry itchy skin stops. The minuet I put water on it the flaking skin comes back. I heard a Dr say you can use cream to cleans the skin. Do you or

anyone know if this is correct.

I have eczema and what my derm-doc recommended was a ceramide based cleanser. I use the CeraVe brand hydrating cleanser. Comes in both liquid and solid forms. In liquid, there are both a body and facial version. I follow up with a CeraVe cream after showering.
