Having a tough day (moment) and of course I stumble upon a helpless fawn in the middle of the hot road. Laying flat. It couldn't have been but a few hours old, tops. I walked up to it (road was empty) and it "bambied" right over to me into my arms. I carried it to the nearest neighbors woods and the mom I guess came back tonight for it. Crazy fawn walk tonight!!!

Gosh that was an unusual thing to happen and sounds like you were in the right place at the right time!
That's... pretty intense. You were fortunate that the mother wasn't nearby, or that could've proven VERY dangerous. Beyond that creature's own mother, I couldn't imagine that beast stumbling into better care.
