Yesterday coming home from the lake I heard this ruckus and it was a Jay mobbing a sparrow hawk and the hawk was motionless, sparrow hawks are magnificent birds unless you're their prey...
The hawk then flew to a nearby tree and the Jay couldn't take it's eyes off me so I took a quick photo. They are normally shy and are the smallest and most colourful member of the crow family.
I had my first encounter with wild boars in the forest this afternoon when a family ran past me, the thunder from the feet told me how powerful they are and they were maybe 15M to my left but we were converging and they stopped in the bushes about 10M from me and then I came across a baby boar and knew I had to skedaddle so immediately changed course, maybe next time I'll get a photo of them. πββοΈ.........π
But I've walked around 5 miles again today and been out in this beautiful sunshine so how good is that and the wild boars didn't get me...π
Lol Iβm glad the wild boars didnβt get you! Sounds like an eventful walk you had Jerry. Great photo too. Good to hear you had lovely weather, Itβs been grey and cold here so glad you got out and enjoyed it.
What a lovely photo Jerry, and what an eventful walk - a baby boar - I would still have to fight the urge to go and give he/she a cuddle, but you made the right choice and changed direction π
Thanks Debs I couldn't believe how close I got to the baby boar as I was close enough to stroke it before I saw it and its family were the other side of me. π
