Divorce. Does anybody have any advice for those with a brain injury or their spouses without wanting a divorce.
Hi John.
My name is Paddy and I read your question about divorce and head injury. I am not really sure what exactly you want to know but I suggest you not be too specific on a public forum as the topic is very private and specific to individuals.
I was divorced following a head injury and it was a dreadful time. I understand how difficult it is to be faced with the breakdown of family life whilst also trying to cope with the effects of brain injury - most of which seem invisible and impossible to describe, even to those closest to us.
If you are struggling yourself or need an understanding shoulder, please feel free to tell me and I'll message you my home phone number. Chatting things through with a sympathetic stranger is often easier than trying to talk to family when emotions are high and I would do my best to listen, understand and give any advice you wanted.
By way of encouragement, I am now very happily married to my soulmate, who entirely 'gets' my wonky head. She just isn't the same person I was married to at the time of my injury.
Paddy

ha ha I always say I'm having a very bad blond moment, but think I prefer your term 'wonky head'
