We have chosen to appoint a professional deputy through the court of protection for my husband's financial affairs and I wondered if any other carers / significant others had experience of this and how well it has worked?

my experience in dealing with the local authority deputy was grim you would be better advised to do it yourselve
I have my solicitor as my deputy, but unless you trust his decisions ...as it is in your best interests, you will be in a bad place! But it dose stop anybody from thinking you have a pile of disposable income to give them (friends and FAMILY) I love saying, .I have to ask for petty cash so I cannot give you money! My system works very well....will have the same result with a council bloke?
He's also from our solicitors. I'm just finding it a bit weird having no control ove our finances.
