wow another one my family and fiancee had the same frustrations as did i i had a brain hemmoraghe what we found helped was to agree the milestones with the medical people my fiancee pushed me to best everyone e.g walk 10meters a day i did 20 them 30 then 50 stopped use of wheelcair a monthe before planned threw away the zimmer and crutches and took to a walking stick when nurses offered to shower me i refused help and did my self

the multitude of medical terms are confusing either ask or look up on internet

as for the future it will not be what you were both used to but enjoy the fact that he still here and i trust yoiu love each other but you will both have to accept that life will change adapt and acccept people are more than willing to help and assist but no time for sympathy seekers and whingers i found that i earnt a lot of adnmiration by taking on charity work raising over £8,000 in marathons driving again is another hurdle

good luck please contact if you need any more advice.

The truth is they dont know....Every brain injury has a different outcome and the milestones for some are completely different to the next persons...My surgeon actually said " we are very good at fixing the problem but thats about it" He was being honest...because no one but me knows how I feel from day to day and the only people who can relate to where I have been and where I am going to are those that have been there or still making the journey. Some things get better some dont .Only time will tell ...I'm in my 5th year now. Walking and talking now...some days are good some days not so good....But thanks to my team ,Im still here. The rest will unfold with time.

one thing you cant do is give in either you or your husband .. its ok to feel sorry or sorry for ones self but dont let it get in the way of trying to beat what people tell you - you wont be able to do anymore ... like mc murphy was saying ,one day take 1 step the next 2 and build up and up .. but by god this will not beat me .... ups and downs there will be but stick with it !!! there will be physical and mental challenges it comes with the badge ..
