A very interesting article on links between PCS and Long COVID.

bbc.com/future/article/2024...

Some scepticism of what it actually means on the ground - I have both, and I definitely haven't had all of this treatment! - but there are definitely so many symptoms that seem to cross over between PCS, LC and POTS/dysautonomia.

This was my experience when I had my head injury in January after being a long covid sufferer since 2020.

It helped me to focus on the head injury elements as these are well established treatment protocols. Long Covid treatment paths are still very immature, if not entirely non-existent but the volume of research suggests that something will emerge eventually... However I'm not expecting anything for a few years given the reality of research schedules and funding challenges.

Interesting to hear that. It turns I probably have had Long COVID since 2020 (although not all the classic symptoms at all) and only got told as much when I saw my GP about my concussion. Seems like both are very much bumbling around in the dark and prescribing things off licence!

Yea, very much so. Educated guesses abound right now for so many similar conditions. With no holistic view from mainstream medicine the lived experience is the last thing to be taken into consideration.

That's a very interesting article - what a change to see researchers discussing 'long concussion' and a rationale for what's happening, rather than the usual 'it's fine after 3-6 months'. Interesting theory on the brain stem- the overwhelm after any stress rather strikes a chord.

Hopefully more research will be beneficial in all these fatigue conditions.

I was absolutely wiped out after Covid last July - it took months to get back to where I was a year ago. A real backward step in my concussion recovery.
