hello everyone I’m interested to know. I am a parent of son who had a RTA when he was 20 years old and suffered Brian injuries.
He is now 37 and attended headway groups periodically but he feels and I from my observation these don’t seem to be age appropriate him.
Which resulted in him decided not to attend. Since then I have spoke to other young people in their 20 and 30 who have had RTA /other and they feel the same.
Is there anyone eles who are parents or carers of young people of this age who are having same challenges.
Thankyou in advance

headway local charities differ hugely, and clearly will depend on set up, some are more day centers type of stuff, others more social groups and so on.
My local has mainly social groups when you can meet others etc, I’d agree the ages do tend to the older/middle aged range this said do have a few 20 something who come as well.
I was 38 when I started going to the groups and in general I certainly was not the youngest or oldest.
Sounds like quite an old or perhaps static group? Could ask if they have more active other groups perhaps? Or other activities does he want it to be Brain injury related?
One of the boons last few years has been to go to a bike club I go with smaller groups and so on but it’s great cycling is my hobby.
