I think we all get headaches here Rosebud66.. Lovely handle btw.

sometimes migraine can be affected by diet, exercise in moderation to your ability, more water.. or even an affect of actually being on pain medication, can actually cause headaches more than help them.

so anyway, leave it to you to chat to me if you want, if not, hopefully this year will be better for you.

take care

Hello Rosebud, welcome to our group, I used to suffer with migraines, from my twenties, varying in strength from head pain and vomiting to go on to visual disturbances at the end. The visual disturbances were particularly nasty, left you feeling drained. My migraines have actually stopped since I had my brain haemorrhage, I haven’t had any since, it’s not advisable but blessing in disguise, I hope you can get yours sorted, I do get normal headaches now and pressure pain in my head , I have been on all sorts of meds and maybe they haven’t found the right one for you yet, keep going back to your doctor or they will think it is sorted lots of luck love Alice xx

I suffer from migraines following a head injury. The consultant told me that the nerves are over sensitive, hence the migraine.

I am taking amitriptyline to try to "numb/settle the nerves" I have just turned 60 and he neurologist told me that the sensitivity of the nerves, in cases like mine, seems to reduce as one approaches 65. Despite this we are increasing my dosage to 100mg/night, in an attempt to help me function better. I am a secondary school teacher, I have found that my employers aren't especially sympathetic as "its just a migraine". Which is ironic as the head injury resulted from an accident at school!

Same as Ali and Sky - I was plagued with migraines pre-brain injury, often needing intervention with anti sickness injections. Touch wood I've only had two in the past 11years since a bleed on the brain.

Have you tried 'The Migraine Trust' for further support & advice ? I really hope you find help m'love ; repeated migraines are devastating. Either Google 'Migraine Trust' or phone 0808 802 0066.

Best wishes Rosebud..
