Getting a neuropsychologist

hi all , 2024 I had my brain bursting aneurysm. Sine then I’ve been subjected to ‘inconclusive’ tests with neuropsychologists and no folllow up. I’ve tried so hard to get a proper neuropsychological assessment which isn’t online and takes longer than an hour. I would be happy to pay reasonable fees too but finding someone is so damn hard! Does anyone know of anyone? I would be most grateful

I found a company in Birmingham - the cost was £1200. This included a home visit to do the assessment. I will try and find the details for you later - I have to get ready to go out at the moment.

Oh I'm sorry Kay. I'm assuming you've asked your GP for recommendations ?

Hi Cat, yes I did and was referred to a neuro team who did testing online due to Covid. They didn’t feel the testing was valid because it wasn’t face to face. They referred me to the same NHS trust I used to work for which was a tad embarrassing. The trust said their waiting list was two years or more!

Our Ex PM & cronies have bled the NHS to exactly the point they've been aiming for since day one. The fact you may have to pay to avoid a 2 year wait is so wrong !

I wouldn't know where to begin in sourcing private treatment but I wish you well in finding the help you need... Stay in touch m'love.... X

....should've added - I've recently contacted my MP about NHS underfunding. x

Hi Kayee I came across your post and wondered if you had found anyone as yet...? I’m hoping you have as it’s been a while. I’m in the process of hopefully getting NHS referral but I have this place lined up as back-up. Not cheap, none of them are, but if you call and speak to Amber Johnston who is the owner/director and a neuropsychologist herself, she explains really well what they do.
