. Hi all, hope your all doing ok,not been on here for ages to comment but still reading questions and others comments which are excellent. Just have a quick question if I may ask,I'm about 8 mths post OP due to a very large brain aneurysm, hemorrhage and a large blood clot but I'm getting pain in my head now more so than before,I wouldn't call it a headache as such it just hurts all over esp to touch or lay on and not so much the scar area but every where else on my head, anyone else had or having the same problem, many thanks x

Hi RB238,

There are others who are far more knowledgable than me, but I would get that urgently checked. I dont want to alarm you unnecessarily but getting it checked is better than not knowing.

(I developed an infection after being discharged from having a TBI and went downhill fast. Thanks to Headway, I was quickly taken to A&E and then Neuro Critical Intensive Care. That identified the problem and allowed them to deal with it, which took weeks, although it was far more serious than the therapist I was with at home at the time of the symptoms).

Not saying your situation is anything like similar but without in depth medical knowledge, the rest of us might just be guessing.

Best wishes.

😇

Hi Rocky. If you're having general discomfort which isn't a typical headache you might be experiencing pressure changes, either low from lost fluid or high from swelling, which are apparently common after brain surgery. Pain killers don't often alleviate this type of issue (as I found after a haemorrhage in 2011) and your neuro team might need to check you over to be sure all's otherwise ok .

Give the team a call and ask for a telephone appt. to see what they think. Good luck with this Rocky ; I can recall those weeks of persistent pain, especially when trying to rest or sleep. 😟 Cat x
