Ive been exceptionally stressed recently with family, work and covid i guess too. But been ok just getting along. But then on Sat i had to leave work early as i had an aura where i couldnt see properly and then felt real nauseous and woozy. But not really a headache. Thats what normally happens when i get an aura, hardly any headache if any. Plus i only get an aura few times a year. But after sat i then got another one Sun, but this time severe pain, could hardly stand it, bad nausea too. Then again today woke ok did jobs at home then around 1pm another aura and headache, not as bad as yesterday but still head pain. Now Cant get my doctor till tomorrow but im meant to be at work tomorrow at 6am. So now im not sure what to do stay at home and get doc before anything else or go to work and then get doctor later. im scared its gonna happen again tomorrow. Why am i getting them 3 days on the trot, when i dont normally get them.

Dear Marleyboo,

'Blow' going to work, it WILL still 'be there' when you get back. Your Health is, Far more, important and I'm Honestly Wondering if there has been a 'Change' somehow.

I'm sure that your Employers, whoever they are, would rather you 'got yourself checked' than fell Very Ill, or worse. If it it Turns Out to be 'nothing' then Great, go back to work, Catch Up and carry on.... IF.

My 'gut' feeling, having read your 'post' is to ask for a Brain Scan. They are Not 'invasive', in any way, so long as you don't mind a 'Confined Space'.... for a Short Time. You are laid on a, quite narrow 'bed', which is Slid inside a Metal Tube. Various 'Noises' are then heard, mostly 'Dink, Dink Dink' arguing with 'Donk, Donk, Donk'- along with a few others. The 'Process' does not take long, and you can Leave almost immediately.

There are 'Other' tests, that you can request, include MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and the, in many ways, similar NMRI (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging). Both these Scans 'work' by analysing Brain Function, using a magnetic field.

I have had, quite a number, of different Tests/ Scans, over the years and I can assure you, that these are Nothing To Worry About. You won't be Harmed, in any way, and by the Next Day you will be back to 'Normal'... whatever that is!

I hope that this has Set Your Mind 'at rest' Marleyboo however, if you do want to discuss this further, either reply on here or PM me.

Hello Marleyboo,

You mentioned how stressed you have been. I do not get migraine headaches but i occasionally get lightheadedness or dizzy spells -- these happen only when I am very stressed. Once, 8 years ago the dizziness lasted for a long time. Nobody could figure out the cause. I went to a neurologist who asked me to follow a particular diet for 3 weeks. I was sure he was off track but thought I should do what he prescribed. To my surprise the diet started to work right away. It turns out he was treating me for "no-headache migraines". The mechanism is the same as in the case of the headachy migraine, but the the symptom is different.

Just in case it helps, here is the diet. It consists of eating regularly but you cut out :

- Tyramine (found in bananas, broad beans, avocado, aged cheese, yogurt, sour cream, nuts)

-Phynalethylamine (found in chocolate, red wine)

- Sodium nitrite (found in canned soups, food coloring, preservatives, processed meats and fish)

- Monosodium glutamate

- Alcohol

- Caffeine

- Artificial sweeteners

You cut these all out for three weeks and then can start reintroducing one at a time.

I hope that you get the relief that you need!

Regards,

Taia

"I went to a neurologist who asked me to follow a particular diet for 3 weeks". Amazing. You should write to the daily mail and tell the world about this person, they are a leader in their field and by raising this issue, education of ALL neurologists occurs faster. Best.
