Is it private messages you're having problems with Pat ? Normally you'd just write your reply in the box directly below the message you receive then click on SEND. If that doesn't work maybe ask Headway if there's a technical problem : I've found the tech people very helpful in the past.
Click on your profile picture on top right hand of home page, select 'Help, then 'Contact Support' where you'll be invited to post your problem & receive a reply.
