I don't like doing the food shopping at the best of times, but more often than not it's because i end up having to go back and get the stuff i have forgot, which i suppose is pretty cool,as if i bump into someone for a chat,my slow-mo brain has thought of something else to add to it,before i exit the checkouts,Happy Days !!!

Im also trying to cut down on the sugar foods too,the only way i can do this when i get to the supermarket,is write on the back of my hand "no shit stuff",but sometimes forget to wipe it off so get a face that looks like its been sucking on a wasp at the checkout
Unless I immediately make a note of anything which runs out and scan the cupboards (notepad in hand) before I go shopping, I end up staring into space in the middle of town like a duck in a thunderstorm.
It's all part of the joy of brain injury Kevin and, if anyone can see the funny side I'll bet it's you ! 😆 x
I say life is funny i have just had my PIP assessment and i was doing fine until she asked me howd i get on with wiping my arse.........needless to say when i got my award letter it was the worst score i have ever achieved, LOL
I do pretty much all online now. You don't get to pounce on yellow stickers or check how fresh things are, squeeze your veg or sniff and check it's ripe. Or see and talk to people as much, and it is more expensive, but I've sampled most now and the drivers can be very kind and bring your shopping in to where you want it. Bags are recycled. There've been some glitches but I can order half awake now over a couple of days and reliably get food! There are some good discounts if you search for vouchers or money off tokens/loyalty schemes. A friend orders hers for 11- 12pm and so the delivery costs less . I started after I had food delivery from an awful meals on wheels company after one hospital stay. Two foil trays a day of a small brown pellet, in brown mush and a small brown pellet in yellow (I think) custard at about £8 a pop. I think it was a 'main meal' and 'pudding' but it made me sad to think people are surviving on that. Joyless. Nutritionally balanced and healthy my foot. Eurrgh.
I'd like to be able to support local shops and the market but where I live now it's a drive/30 minute healthy person brisk walk so it's a godsend.
Get home and say "Oh I know what we wanted" most urgent thing to me!! but always forget something ...at least we are still alive and fighting onwards and upwards xxxx
