Total new wrist replacement or wrist fusion

👋 just a quick question? has anybody had one of these operations? I have to have either of the two and I am not sure which would be the more successful. Although my consultant has explained everything to me he has left me to decide which one to have. I have to telephone the hospital on Monday and let them know so I would be so grateful if you could help me. Love Liz x

This really is a decision for you, you have the facts and know how your life will be affected, we are brain injury survivors so maybe not many will know about your situation!!!!

Sorry, I don't know the answer to this. All I can tell you is that my husband had disks fused in his back many years ago and it has been very successful. Also, I have had two replacement knees as have many of my friends and some have had hips and shoulders done and they all seem pretty successful. too It's often worth asking the surgeon 'if you were in my place, what would you choose?'.

Hi thanks for you reply, I did as the surgeon but he said it was up to me. (Ball back in my court) But his choice is total replacement. Thanks anyway for your positive comments. Take Care Liz x

I've had a part fusion, interested in knowing if you had replacement and how you are now? My fusion is the worst thing I've ever had done as I'm in constant pain daily
