Scan results - Fusiform aneurysm

Hi everyone, hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

Just received a copy of a letter sent to my doctors which just tells me that I have a fusiform aneurysm of the right internal carotid artery which is probably incidental nevertheless they will arrange a joint neurovascular clinic appointment for a discussion.

So the only new news is I now know the type of aneurysm🙂

Very little info on the web about my type and position of my aneurysm if any one can find or have personal experience please let me know please - all I’ve found out it is rare ,low rate of rupture but not good out come if they do rupture/ bleed

Wishing all a very happy and healthy new year

I'm sorry you're not getting the support you need Apple. You could phone the Headway helpline on 0808 800 2244 for advice on your condition (might be closed 'til after New Year).

I hope you'll be seen soon, and get to discuss the options presented ; I know there are various approaches to this issue including stent & medication. I survived a SAH 6 years ago and try to keep in touch with the many amazing advancements in neurosurgery.

When your turn comes, remember you'll be in the hands of highly qualified, dedicated specialists and surgeons with state-of-the-art technology and/or treatment. The many members here on Headway are constant reminders of neuro success stories.

All best wishes for the New Year m'dear, and better days ahead. Cat x
