Hi Fred I can only assume he means a period of time when he's not been fully aware of his surroundings/ actions. But I must admit I'd never heard of them, I'll see if anything comes up on google.

They are seizures but not Epilepsy based, but emotional, stress in origin.

I can only think maybe is an Absent siezure, though once found my self waking up soaked to the skin from thankfully cold water with a fallen kettle beside me. I was laying on the hard kitchen floor quite confused and quite content to stay there but for the soaking.
