this  is annoying me I think some people call it brain file but I feel drunk throughout the day when I'm not ,  it is much harder to focus and concentrate on daily tasks my eyesight is affected and basically I feel drunkwhen I'm not!  Is there anything that I can do to combat this other than drinking copious amounts of coffee  please?

Hi. I just tried to take a look at your profile to remind myself how you sustained your brain injury - but you haven't shared anything with us.  I notice you belong to a lot of other forums - I think I recall for anxiety, anorexia, bulimia, epilepsy, endometriosis etc.  Perhaps you could tell us at little about how you got a brain injury so we might better be able to give some thoughts or ideas about your 'brain fog'. Copious amounts of coffee is never good for a brain injury and could be the cause of some of your problems as can affect concentration etc.

Hi pretty things, Coffe is a huge caffeine stimulant and if you drinks lots and lots of and or coke, that could be your answer to the neural effects. Can you try slowly replacing some of the cups of coffe with either water, a good vitamin C or mixed fruit drink. The mixed fruit ones have plenty of other vitamins in them as well.

If you suddenly cut out all the coffee/caffeine that may or will also give you a bad time. You need a slow withdrawal from all that caffeine. Then perhaps introduce and drink decaf tea and or coffee, if you can't live totally without coffee. Good luck.

Most of us have had or still have episodes of "brain fog" so don't worry it does seem to be part of the brains coping function to help with the repair function.

As Sambs mentionned below one of the best way to "improve" brain fog is to effectively live the "good life".  Remove as much processed food from your diet, very fatty food,  too much salt and sugar, plenty of fresh vegetables, fruit and especially nuts and vitamins especially omega 3 and vitamins B.  And remove all coffee, fizzy drinks, alchohol and develop a taste for green teas. One of the old things about "fish gives you brains" is quite true for head injuries. Your brain needs the protein to repair so anything lean like fish or pork is really good.

Then there is for most people the hardest one of all; balancing exercise, work and rest because you have to get the right balance for yourself.  Some people require more rest than others and need to nap 3 or 4 times a day.

Light activities like playing solitare or jig saws help immensly as they help cognitive functions to rebuild without overloading them too much.

it is a gradual thing, one of those things that you will notice sometime in the future, that the fog has eased.

10 years - did you get some sort of award.

Seriously,  has the "fog" eased or changed over that time ?

A lot of posters on here don't mention the "fog" beyond the first few years. After that they seem to stil have issues but have a bit more clarity.
