Hi Karen, wow what a brainstormer - yes it takes me hours and hours also when I get stuck into writing things! :-( ... and in Benfleet not too far from my old part of the world, Frinton on Sea! We bought our first little sailing yacht from Benfleet sailing across to the Medway - a few years before moving to Essex from Kent!

I took a trip across the English Channel 8 yrs ago and I'm still here. with BI et al happening here also. We really do have a lot in common - but don't despair you won't need to be on antipressants all your life! We can p m in future if you want to - I'm 2 years ahead of you re BI and 24 years older. Ive been doing a lot of research into why I had my aneurysm and it's not necessarily all down to stress of which I'd had a lot also. Lots of

But well done you, I'm so happy for you :-) there is lots of support for you and your family - they are the carers - all on here - sorry I to have to say it - but you are in good Company here with us all! :- we understand the up and the down days. Yes the triggers for memory will come - my memory has been triggered by so many discussions on the expat forums here! V short term memory not so good these days!

To Edit your Post or replies - click on the little down arrow to right hand side under your rely - there will be a drop down menu - you can edit, delete or cancel I think! Certainly you can edit!

Where were you born or go to school - I bet and hope someone on here will know the area and be able to jog your memory! I did massage, then aromatherapy course 2 separate weekends with the WI at their HQ in Oxfordshire - I've forgotten the name of the village the House and grounds are in!!! ...see it happens to all of us :-) I used to be with Gunfleet W I. So, if you have a local W I, you'd find yourself very welcome there - that's ones good thing about making new friends, they accept you for who you are now - not who you were before! A fresh start in life post B I.

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your mum - with me it was my dad - so yes I do understand and wishing you all well for your future! Time to let someone else get a look in and reply to you now.....he he......love and virtual hug, from Shirley

Oh yes to p m someone just click on their photo and it will take you to their page and you will see "message" - then put your title of the message and write in the box below that after - just like writing an email! Simples xx

Hi Karen, I live in France now - long since left all clubs and WI behind me. Lots of water under lots of bridges sadly, in Kent, Essex and Holland. It's good you've rekindled a lot of my memories in better detail now also! Names of people And places are still hard to recall, especially quickly.i have to think long and hard these days.

Hullbridge is way up the Crouch or Blackwater isn't it? Or in that area. We sailed in the Crouch and Blackwater Estuary a lot

We only sailed up the Thames once from The Medway but had 3 boats over the years Orion, Gaelic Kin and Palmera. Sea Witch rings bells, a smaller older wooden boat is the one I knew. So many boat names Re seen on different days. Our favourite times were sailing to Holland for summer holidays with either Hoo Ness YC or W&F YC fellow members. Hoo Ness used to hav what they called a Freezer Race, for dinghies sometimes on New Years Day or Thereabouts.

I was last back in UK at Walton on Naze,in Aug 2013, a few months after my BI, W&F rebuilt their club house and last I heard Palmera moors up in one the 'ponds' there! I'd be no good getting on/off a yacht now or balancing if underway - never going up and down the gangway! titchmarsh Marsh Marina also has a good Restaurant there, open to outsiders - not a bad day out to go and visit both those places if you are up to it.

W&F welcome visiting yachtsmen/women even if a long time ago. Seeing boats in their settings again might also help jog your memory. Must go now as on mobile phone rates - Internet up creek!

Hope you continue to improve. :-) Shirley x
