Myself and the Baroness enjoying the cricket last night at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Our team lost, but hey ho, good times :)

We were first in, it was actually sold out

Due off on the 27th...

Current keeping cool method is to hang my arm out the passenger window while we're driving anywhere at speed. It's bliss :)

Great and nearly perfect timing for the school hols and lots more opportunities to have those "great ideas at the time"

Wishing you and the family wonderfully adventurous and accident free holidays.

Love n hugs

Cast and hat coordinate! Sun shining for day out, what more could you ask for?

I'm afraid I've never understood cricket, they knock balls a long way and they wiggle their hands and shout six! Golfers shout four and I don't get that either!

I know you're supposed to knock the wee bits of wood off the sticks at the end to get them out.

My mum used to score at cricket before I arrived!

I think you've just typed out the exact rules of the game :)

Nice 'at! Howzat!

I used to work right next to Trent Bridge. You would be in the middle of a meeting and a cheer would go up....if you were on the top floor it was hard not to go over to the window to try get a glimpse of what was happening...I have never been myself but everyone says it is a great day, whether you 'get' cricket or not.

It is indeed a great day out, thoroughly enjoyed all of it. It was The Baroness's and the mini Baron's first live match and they loved it!

And England did well with Australia too! [Shame about the titfer] :)

What's wrong with the hat? I thought I looked quite dapper :)

in reply to BaronC

I wouldn't wear it!

Great pic - wild hat ! : )

I don't understand cricket either but my partner is a big fan. Seems to me they keep changing the rules - I thought they had to run after hitting the ball a long way but sometimes they just stand still ? !

I remember playing French cricket with a tennis racket guarding my legs as a child - nice and simple ! : ))

Well I suppose I'm really bringing down the tone but when I was a kid we lived next door to greenbelt land and spent most of our days playing rounders. It doesn't have the class (or whites) of cricket but we often stayed 'til sundown in summer, running our little hearts out.

I've never been to a county cricket match but I go occasionally, with a picnic, to the local pitch. The atmosphere alone is worth going for ; I particularly like the sound of people clapping in the open air on a lazy summer's day. :-/ x

Is it just me or are those smiles getting a little brighter and wider in each photo, despite of course the being on the losing side so guess with out that hinderence your smile would have been even wider.

Where do you get those shirts?

Beststest to Both the Baron and Baroness long may you reign.

Well bright or not they do hi-light the smiles.

Looking well relaxed.

Hope theres no connection between the shirt and the empty stands ;-)

Glad to hear you are well. Not seen a post from you for a while and thought the new sofa was a bigger draw than the forum ;-)

Stay well, stay happy.
