Not been well for five years. Been through numerous 'ologists, spent a couple of stays at Kings neurological in London, had lots of tests MRI, EEG, given gallons of blood. Changed neurologists, and seen several others. The latest diagnosis is OSB. Would love to here from anyone else who has it. How do you cope and what are your symptoms.

Hi Chris52, I'd never heard of this so googled it. Sounds like a catch all for whatever causes brain problems when there's no trauma or other cause, ie virus or bacteria, but sounds like a lot of the effects are the same. I didn't have a trauma just a virus that caused encephalitis and that resulted in lesions in my brain which now give me problems with short term memory and balance, plus the swelling damaged my optic nerves so I some

OSS of peripheral vision and detail.

You'll find help here if you need any tips on how to cope with issues you may help and Headway have a great helpline, no problem too small or even if you feel it insignificant, if it worries you or you need answers just holler, someone I'm sure will come to your aid

Best wishes. Janet

So I googled Organic Brain Syndrome and it sounds like something they diagnose you with when they have no idea what the hell is going on but something is definitely cognitively amiss. What lame doctors. Sorry to hear that, I mean for the most part head traumas have the same characteristics. I have histotoxic hypoxia it's hard for me to learn new things and establish and retain new memories. I'm guessing that's probably similar to what you struggle with also..

Like the others not heard of that, looking at various sites it appears to be a older catch all term, one that has fallen mostly out of use apparently.

Negeen is quite correct in that what ever the causes the symptoms seem remarkably similar, with brain injury.
