Hi Ask Eve and fellow ladies!

Last night I woke up with a horrible pain in what I can only describe as the one side of my groin area. It felt as though I'd walked into the corner of a table and felt very bruised!

I've recently developed a lump on my labia majora which is quite sore and hadn't connected the two however from doing some research today, I notice that the exact spot I've been experiencing soreness in my groin is where the lymph nodes are.

Should I wait and see whether the lump goes away and the soreness in my groin disappears or do you have at information/advice about whether I should be seeing the doctor sooner rather than hanging on?

I recently had a Gynacologist appointment as we have been trying to conceive with no joy for about 2 years. They have referred me for a laparoscopy to see if it's endometriosis. I've had severe groin pain for the past 6 to 8 months but this was normally around my period - this is more like a bruise in a very specific area (where the lymph nodes are) so very different! The lump had only been there now for about a week or so from what I've noticed!

During an internal exam the other week, the Dr said that she could see something on the side of my cervix that I have been having trouble with but she wasn't sure what it was - not sure if that's related or not!

Thanks xxx

P.s smear test last year - normal, swabs and general fertility bloods - normal, internal and external ultrasound - normal!

Hi there Faith,

Thank you for your message. We're sorry to hear that you're having to deal with lumps and pain at the moment!

It's reassuring that your latest smear was clear/normal. However a lump on your labia majora won't be cervix-related, so we do recommend going to see your GP. It's likely to be something relatively simple like a blocked gland/cyst but it's still important to seek reassurance and rule out anything more serious.

Best Wishes

The Ask Eve Team
