my daughter is 32 years old and is over a year overdue for a smear, she cannot get an appointment even though she has asked many times. what can she do to get one? she lives in Thorne in South Yorkshire. I would appreciate any help as she is dressing about it and so am I. Thank you.

Hi there,

We are very sorry to hear about this.

It's great to hear you are both keen on attending your smear tests, but disappointing that despite your efforts you're not receiving the service.

The National Cervix Screening Service co-ordinate smear invites with the GP's, it may be best for you (both Mum and daughter) to speak with your GP Practice Manager to ask for information on the screening service to get information on alternatives - hopefully that should get things moving.

We hope your daughter receives an appointment soon!

Wishing you both all the best, and if you have any concerns you can always contact the Ask Eve team on freephone 08088020019 or email nurse@eveappeal.org.uk.
