I am taking 7 mg carbimazole every day. My latest blood tests are abnormal .

TSH 5.07 mlu/L 0.27. - 4. 2. Should I be taking more or less carbimazole to bring me into range.

Thank you Val

The higher your TSH the lower your FT4 & FT3 tend to. They have an inverse relationship. The TSH is a pituitary signal to thyroid.

You really should have FT4 & FT3 tested. Relying on TSH isn’t accurate.

You likely need to reduce carbimazole to allow FT4 & FT3 to rise. Carbimazole reduces what new hormone can be made. The affect is gradual. The TSH follows what the FT4 & FT3 are doing.

Do you take half a pill? 7mg isn’t a common dose.

Thank you purple nails. Yes, I take 2. X 5 every other day. I am only a little out of being normal, but feel exhausted. Val
