Hello again to all you kind and helpful people on this forum. Any I have Graves’ disease and just got my results back including my vitamin results which is first time I have had the vits testing done. My endo says all fine with these results. Does anyone have any ideas/ comments /advice to add?( My hair is still falling out constantly and am still weary and often tearful which is why I had these tests done. )

Still awaiting TrAb results. I take 10 mg carbim per day. Had Graves for many years.

Thx.

Hey there again and have you gone bananas, Bananas ?

I can't see any results here ?

You might like to put them on the Thyroid uk forum as well, as there are many more members over there who are very hot on the thyroid levels and vitamins and minerals levels.

P.S, this post has appeared on the Thyroid forum automatically - no worries - we just need to know the results and ranges you promised us !!!

Hey there Bananas :

Well, I think your T3 and T4 levels a bit too low - what about trying a small reduction in Carbimazole to say 7.50 mcg ?

You " look " more hypo than hyper - so sending a hug : I know it's a distressing time as the symptoms of both hypo and hyper can overlap and it's upsetting.

Your ferritin is probably contributing to the cause of your hair loss :

Ferritin needs to be at least half way through the range : so talk to your doctor and let's find out if there's anything else going on with your iron stores :

I aim for folate at around 20 : and serum B12 at least half way through so this needs propping up as well as I'd aim for 500 + : and vitamin D around 100: I need to keep all my vitamins and minerals optimal for me, and feel at my best with a ferritin of around 100 : ( range dependant ) ;

Are you taking any supplements already ?

Free T4 9.1pmol/L (7.9-20pmol/L) 9.92% through range

Free T3 4.2pmol/L (4.0-6.6pmol/L) 7.69% through range

Your thyroid levels are super low.

The aim of carbimazole is to take the lowest dose to get FT3 & 4 in range. Most feel well if free are in top third of range. There’s a argument to keep it about mid range to catch it before it rises but it should never be kept this low.

Ask your doctor if you could reduce to 5 mg per day and retest in 6 weeks. You may need to adjust again. You can take different dose every eg 10 alternating with 5 or I cut them up and take 7.5 per day.

TSH 2.21mu/L (0.34-5.6mu/L) most feel well when around 1 but after you have been hyper it’s not a reliable measurement as it gets down regulated. Most with such low levels would have a much higher TSH.

All your nutrients look too low to me. Low ferritin might be causing your hair loss. Hopefully those more knowledgeable will comment.

I’m not sure posts to the Graves group do automatically appear on the thyroid forum. I think only members who are joined to a group has the posts appear on the post feeds. I may be wrong.

So I recommend you post these results on that group too. There are many excellent members who can give specific advice on how to improve low nutrients.
