Easiand. This is a bit confusing. Were you diagnosed by blood test and/or biopsy via an endoscopy?

What did you discuss with your doc? Is the procedure something that was discussed or has it come out of the blue via a letter? Is it to do with your Coeliac diagnosis or something entirely different?

The most likely procedure would be the endoscopy/colonoscopy. However you would need to be still eating a gluten containing diet prior to this.

Would suggest that if you are really unclear as to what this appointment entails, then book an appt with your GP to discuss. He can, if necessary, ring the hospital to get further info and talk this through with you.

Hi Irene have been diagnosed through biopsy. Then had appointment with dietician and started diet. Have been given another appointment with gastroenterology in Feb and that was on appointment letter. Unfortunately I am unlucky with my GP who seems to know less about CD than I do which isn't much.

You can always bypass the GP and ring the department detailed on your hospital letter. Get hold of the clinic nursing Sister or similar senior personnel and sound them out with your query on what will be involved during the appointment. They should be able to have a view of the system and will be able to see if anything is proposed.
