Anyone know of GF bran coeliacs can eat other than oat bran? Unfortunately I cannot tolerate oats either. Suggestions welcome!

Rice bran.

I'm a non-oat-eater too.

Rather than looking for bran - think of fibre. Dried fruits especially dates and prunes are useful to include at breakfast times; currents sprinkled on cereal or served with rice pudding or home made cakes; banana spooned over with honey and a little thick plain Greek yoghurt; sunflower and pumpkin seeds are a useful snack; ground flax seeds or ground sprouted flax seeds may be sprinkled onto cereal, eaten as a porridge or used in baking; Psyllium Husks stirred into watered down fruit juice when required; eat fruit with the peel still attached where possible; try increasing the amount of varieties of vegetables - broccoli stems are particularly good; and although it isn't fibre add an extra half pint of warm water in the mornings as this helps fibre to do its job.

I use a spoonful of linseeds/flax seed or milled linseed available in the health food sections of supermarkets or in health food stores and a bit of dried fruit on top of my bowl of cereal a few times a week to top up my fibre levels. The seeds also go well in yoghurt. Linseed also provides some omega 3 oils. I also get Juvela fibre fresh bread as my main bread supply and this has some GF additional fibre sources added to it.

My dad had issues with constipation a few years ago and also eats his "birdseed" every day in yoghurt to great effect.

Linseeds are good on cereals. Available from supermarkets. You can also add them into crushed GF biscuits used for Chesesecake base and sprinkle a few over the top of curry, chilli etc

Great - thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Think I will pay a visit to Holland and Barrett at the weekend.

Actually a good flax meal is great in lieu of bran. You would need more liquid for it though. If you're looking for fiber, coconut flour is also good. Rice bran can be very starchy. And, if you can get it, in lieu of oats for porridge, get flaked or rolled quinoa.

Try the new Juvella fibre flakes cereal, they are just like bran flakes:-)
