Has anybody here considered this gene test? It evaluates for both gluten sensitivity and celiac disease.

This is the test.
Borat, can you please tell me if this test is any better than the one that tests phoo, also I didn't see the price of this test anywhere, and finally, will my or any uk doctor accept the findings of these tests.
It costs £ 385! I don't want to sound too sceptic, but I was wondering why this test is not "approved" by NHS. I will see a specialist tomorrow and will ask them about this test...will keep you updated asap 😉
My consultant did HLA testing as part of a range of research tests. Those linked to CD (HLADQ2 and HLADQ8) are found throughout 1/3 of the population and are also linked to other diseases. Having either doesn't mean you have CD so are mostly useless. They are however useful for researchers.
I think the HLA test excludes a diagnosis of coeliac/gluten sensitivity if you dont have one of these, rather than diagnostic if you do have it, so I suppose it can be helpful as part of a range of tests. I wouldnt think your average GP would be interested or aware so as its expensive I wouldnt but there are self test strips that are quite cheap and advertised as a test for coeliac disease but they dont seem to specify exactly what test they do, but I think a GP might take more notice of this result.
