I don't know if your problem is gluten related?
Try using a shampoo which does not contain sodium lauryl sulphate, as it is a common allergen.

I dont know if this would help, but a natural way to wash your hair is to use 1 tbsp bicarb in warm water and rub into scalp, rinse off with water and final rinse with 1 tbsp apple cide vinegar in warm water.
I tried this and found that when I rinsed my scalp felt as if I had poured acid over it--- it was fine with the bicarb on it.
I do find that if I mistakenly eat gluten I get spots on my scalp.
A really simplistic question is ---are you rinsing really, really well as soap residue will make you itch
During the winter, I was using coconut oil all over my body, including my hair/head. The oil kept me warm like silk long johns. You might try it on your head. Makes hair amazingly shiny. It might help the itching, too.
I eat gluten free. Just a thought. It's fairly easy. Now, I'm vegan which is a little more challenging. Diet is huge and often you don't know what it will help until you start eating that way.
I have used Ceanel shampoo very successfully for itchy scalp, you can get it in most chemists, hope it works
I had an itchy scalp for a couple of years which felt like I had head lice. My hair was thinning on the top where I could easily see my scalp. I would change my shampoo regularly but nothing helped then I developed blisters on my scalp and back which was diagnosed as Dermatitis Herpetiformis. I went on a gluten free diet and I've not had any scalp issues since and the bonus my hair regrew and looks normal. I have been gluten free 3 years now. Hope this helps
I've never developed blisters ad hope that I never do! I've been gluten fee for sever months so I hope that it will help.
Have you already removed gluten from your diet? If so eliminate distilled vinegar products as well. This was causing my scalp to itch terribly also.
