If you mean non-coeliac gluten intolerant then that is different to coeliac. Same "treatment" (avoid gluten) but different underlying morphology. Not sure what your question is.

I usually just lie and say I'm a coeliac, it's easier...

Excellent question. What the science has now confirmed is that Celiac Disease is but 1 manifestation of the body's response to a sensitivity to gluten. A very important response, but only 1 response. Schizophrenia may be another response to a sensitivity to gluten with or without CD. The interview with Professor Volta will focus on this topic(NCGS) with great detail. Please let everyone you know who may be interested in the Gluten Summit theglutensummit.com

All interviews will be up in groups of 4 for 24 hours. They can be viewed at any time day or night during that 24 hour window.i Then they'll come down to make room for the next 4.

And, if someone desires, like any medical Conference, the recordings are available, along with all of the PowerPoints, along with all 630+ pages of transcripts for $67. All 29 hours.

But all interviews are available at no charge for their 24 hour window. And, after Registering, we will send you a Summary the day before of who will be speaking tomorrow, what the topics are they will address, and a few of the 'pearls' from the interview.

Happy Listening.

As i understand it, the term NCGS has been devised to cover those people who react to gluten (and improve on GF diet) but who do not test positive for Coeliac disease. More information about the conference that was convened to address this here: biomedcentral.com/1741-7015.... Looking forward to Professor Volta's podcast!

I agree that the term 'non coeliac gluten sensitivity' does feel a bit of a mouthful when you want to tell someone what's wrong with you! Gluten sensitive also sounds a bit lame. I think most people understand the word 'intolerant', so that's the easiest thing to say if you're not coeliac. What about gluten reactive? Gluten explosive? They sound a bit more like it! :)

'Gluten explosive' might make restaurants be more careful!

I fall into the non coeliac group, but I have non coeliac gluten enteropathy but I don't have HLA DQ2 or 10 (or is it 8 ? ). In any case if it causes actual damage or makes you feel unwell you have to stop eating gluten. I had villous atrophy and it has taken 6 months to start to feel better and I don't know when I have been glutoned ! It's weird disease !
