We often promote opportunities to take part in glaucoma research. But what’s in it for you? According to the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), by taking part in research you can:
• Make a difference to future generations, by helping to improve treatments and quality of life;
• Access new treatments;
• Take an active role in your own health and care.
It’s something people rarely regret doing, with 91% of patients who took part in research saying they would consider taking part in future research opportunities.
Visit our Take Part in Research page to learn about current projects you could participate in. For example, there is a survey you can complete to find out the effect of glaucoma on vision, or you can share your experiences around completing visual field tests to help develop better field tests for patients.
