Hi there, has anyone got a home tonometer?I have narrow angles, and raised eye pressure, I had a laser iridotomy about 5 years ago, the holes are still open but my eye pressure still remains on the high side.
I went to emergency eye clinic yesterday to get my eye pressures check as I had pain in my left eye, one eye was 18, the other was 22, i was sent away with viscotears dry eye drops (I'm already using dry eye drops) I'd really like to check my pressures occasionally at home rather than go to the hospital so wondered if anyone had a home tonometer is it any good, easy to use and accurate? Appreciate any help, thank you. I'm not using any other eye medication other than dry eye drops.

Hi there. Home tannometers can be quite expensive so before investing we recommend that you speak to an eye specialist or consultant first. If you go ahead with the investment then you will also need to be shown by an optometrist or consultant first before you use it.
thanks for your answer. when my pressure is measured it is never accurate via puffer, for instance the puffer said 17, while the tonometer said 8 (on two occasions).
