I have a repeat prescription and this morning the pharmacy couldn’t give me these eye drops and suggested I try elsewhere. Five chemists later … a pharmacist told me that there’s a known shortage and that they aren’t expecting any stock until the new year. So - what do I do?

Hi. You need to contact your consultant, or whoever prescribed the drops, they will probably be able to prescribe an alternative. Not sure where you are but if you’re anywhere a near Moorfields eye hospital, or a specialist eye clinic, it’s also worth calling their pharmacy as they often carry a larger stock than a high street pharmacy.
As previous comment, contact the secretary of your consultant, consultant will ring back and give you an alternative. If you are desperately short and about to run out, the consultant can write you an emergency prescription and you can use their pharmacy to speed things up. If you have plenty left they can send the prescription to your local pharmacy
Hello. I have just phoned the company Thea, who make the Fixapost drops and they don't have any reserves or supply in the UK. They think the supply may start coming at the end of this month but it will take a while to roll out.
Their advice is to contact your eye specialist to get your drop changed to a different one.
