DVLA Notification Requirements

Hello
Yes, if you have visual field defects and or have been diagnosed with glaucoma in both eyes you do need to inform the DVLA. This is to cover you as well as them. Doesn't necessarily mean that you can't drive. There are lots of people with glaucoma who drive.
The DVLA once you notify them will ask you to take a driving visual field test at one of four Specsavers stores near to you, who do the test. This then gets sent to the DVLA who will write to you with their decision from the visual field test result.
You can ask Specsavers for a copy of the field test once you have done it at.
Once a health professional has told you to inform the DVLA I think you should do it or your insurance may be invalid. I was in that position, took the DVLA test and am still driving.
What tests did they do to determine this? I was never told binocular vision was borderline failure, it doesnt seem the language anyone used with me, opticians or eye consultants
I was tested for glaucoma and cleared but the optician put me for a second opinion to a consultant. The consultant said I was ok but was suspect in the left eye and I am taking drops every night and getting checked every six months. However she said the result of the binocular test showed two failures which were marginal and I should notify the DVLA. I think this premature ?
So do I as you only tell them when its in 2 eyes. Theres hardly any on one of my eyes but I was told to tell dvla which I did but tbh its been nothing but stress since then worrying about ,losing my licence
