contacting DVLA

I have tried to contact DVLA but each time the recorded message says we are too busy to take your call. I need to speak to them due to conflicting letters from them. Any advice as to how to contact them it is regarding my Spesavers eye test and when it has to be completed. Thanks

Hello Marg75,

Have you tried the DVLA email for glaucoma patients?

glaucomaqueries@dvla.gov.uk.

Good luck.

I just has similar situation. The first letter from DVLA said to book an appointment at one of the recommended Specsavers and to have the test done within 8 weeks. So I was busy and thought I would do it after Christmas. Exactly 6 days later I get a threatening letter marked from DVLA saying I hadn’t made an appointment yet and the test had to be done within 3 weeks. When I phone the number on the second letter I realised it was from Specsavers DVLA and not DVLA. Nice young chap apologised and said the 3 week limit was a mistake. Obviously Specsavers chasing up the work and fee they will get. Check the telephone numbers on your two letters are the same. I made an appointment for January with a local Specsavers.

Thank you that makes me feel better.

Hello Marg75,

It is 3 years since I was trying to get through to the DVLA, however, I found advice on names and email addresses on FACEBOOK : UK MEDICAL DRIVING LICENCE HOLDERS DISCUSSION GROUP. You may have to search through a range of medical conditions, but I used specific email addresses to achieve a 5 year Medical Licence. I found early on Saturday morning was a good time to get through by telephone - perhaps not this Saturday! Good luck.
