Moorfields Reseach

In a recent Glaucoma UK webinar a Moorfield's Doctor mentioned some research concerning Vit B3 which may commence this autumn. Interested patients with glaucoma were invited to fill in an online form and ask their G.P to send copies of their notes to the hospital.

Today I asked a G.P receptionist and gave her a letter with my request. She was very helpful and said that as long as I included a secure E mail address, then that should be fine. I only asked for a summary to be sent, hopefully that would be enough !

That’s great muddledme, please do keep us updated. Have you started taking the supplement yet or are you waiting to see if you are contacted by Moorfield?

Yes , I have started taking 500mg Vit B3 in capsule form( without all the additives) I realise this could rule me out of the trial, but I was also tempted to start as Nicotinamide is supposed to lower cholesterol. Will get a blood test in a month or two to see !

It took me a while to find it, but if you google :" glaucoma uk webinars you tube", you will find a lot of webinars. The last one that mentioned Vit B3 was dated 23/2/2022 and called "Everything you ever wanted to know about glaucoma" All the ones I have seen have been excellent.

If you want to book up for future webinars, they are often mentioned on the forum, in the right hand column. Sometimes I search for glaucoma uk digital support groups.

If you watch them live you may be able to ask a question and listen to other Q&A's.

Good luck

Good luck everyone! I realise how important this is to all of you. For anyone who may not fit the criteria, with any luck you will benefit in some way from the research findings.
