As 2021 comes to an end, I want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you for your kindness and support during the last, not always easy, year.

Whether you’ve played our weekly lottery, shared your own experiences of living with glaucoma on this forum, left us a gift in your will or taken part in one of our events, you have been generous with your time, interactions and gifts. And we are grateful to every one of you.

You’ve made it possible for us to keep our information and support services running when they’ve been needed more than ever. As people faced diagnosis and appointment delays, we’ve been here providing reassurance and advice through our helpline, glaucoma forum and glaucoma support groups.

We’re also actively funding eight glaucoma research teams who are working tirelessly to shed light on early diagnosis, improved care and new treatments that will help everyone living with glaucoma. This would not be possible without your generosity. Continuing to fund glaucoma research is vital to securing a future free from glaucoma sight loss.

While I’ll be stepping down from my role as Chief Executive early in the new year, I’ll still be excited to see how the charity continues to grow in 2022 and will remain a passionate supporter.

For those who are celebrating, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. And from all of us at Glaucoma UK, we send you our Season’s Greetings and every best wish for a new year full of hope and new possibilities.

Karen Osborn,

Chief Executive, Glaucoma UK

Thank you so much for the letter, it is always encouraging to hear about all the research and webinars etc that Glaucoma UK organise .

The regular' Insight' magazine is such a helpful ,hopeful and informative read. I find them very useful to keep for reference.

Sorry to hear that Karen Osborn is leaving , but wish her well in the New Year.

Glaucoma UK seems such a well organised charity, I think we are very lucky, and wish everyone knew about it !

Best wishes
