Can I introduce myself - part 2

Hope part one didn't bore you too much, but that's my background. So on to part 2 which involves a recent check up

Pressure were right eye 13, left 11, currently using Dorzolomide/Timolol twice daily each eye, told all. OK see you in 6/12. Received copy of letter which has me also on Latanoprost which had been discontinued 18/12 ago, emailed hospital twice, no reply

I'll spare you all the details but today I've contacted PALS and GP, as I'm still in limbo land with which drops I should be using, the Latanoprost is left eye only, which if the pressure there goes too low its not a, problem, but it will be if both lots of drops go into the right as pressure being too low is as bad as too high

The appt which started all this was 13 October, so a month on and I'm still trying to sort stuff from a successful appt

Hello have you tried contacting your eye consultant's secretary? Trish and colleagues on the glaucoma society helpline are really knowledgable and I'm sure they will be able to advise.

Hope it all gets sorted soon x

Hi. I take Dorzolamide twice in the day and Latanaprost before bed. I had an appointment at Ophthalmology last week and my pressure was 12 in both eyes. However I have normal pressure glaucoma so she wants it as low as possible. Did you have a photograph of the back of the eye or a peripheral test when you went for your appointment as they may have seen something after you went? I hope you manage to sort things out.

Hello Jennymary.

What a worrying time this must be for you. If you have been prescribed an additional drop this would be because your eye pressure is not as low as your consultant would like it to be. They would not have prescribed you an additional if they the chance that your eye pressure would become too low. If you do not hear back from the consultant by tomorrow (I see you posted this yesterday) I would chase them up again. I would try the eye secretary first as they will be able to check with the consultant and get back to you.

Thank you, it's partly sorted, GP prescription clerk rang the letter says

Dorzolomide twice daily both eyes

Latanoprost once daily left eye.

Dorzolomide twice right eye

GP reading that that the top one is discontinued

Meds, weren't mentioned at the appt, want to stay on Dorzolomide twice to both eyes, which it has been for the last 18/12, just waiting for PALS to ring and hopefully they can sort for me

I have no idea why the man I saw decided to change the meds as pressures are so good on the Dorzolomide
