Hi Everyone, Please see the link below to Pain Concern's latest podcast. The podcast dedicates a portion of the episode to useful pain management advice that will benefit anybody living with pain, including those with back pain.
Hi again,I listened to the podcast earlier and really enjoyed it.
It gives an overall account of the supplementary effects of chronic pain and how it is being tackled/looked into through research.
The lady from Canada was good and the chap from Kenya especially. He really was informative and his touch of humour gave me a few chuckles.
I was surprised at my own thoughts during it and I felt that listening to it made me realise that I have actually come quite a long way since my "lowest, most desperate point". I really related to what was being said and it did re-iterate the use of my PMP tools and the great effect it has actually had for me.
I am aware of my on-going pain management but think I had actually lost the immensity of the life changes I went through a few years ago. I remember my Consultant commenting on how I appeared "haunted" when trying to accept the fact my fusion surgery hadn't given me my life back! I had pinned all my hopes on that.
However while listening to the podcast, I had a kind of "light bulb" moment and acknowledged (to myself) that I am in such a different place now.
I am going to go and look at the IASP info for back pain when I get a chance.
